“You know the great thing, though, is that change can be so constant you don’t even feel the difference until there is one. It can be so slow that you don’t even notice that your life is better or worse, until it is. Or it can just blow you away; make you something different in an instant. It happened to me.” From the movie My Life as a House
This is one my favorite movies and definitely worth watching. The concept that life can change in just a minute is one that has always fascinated me. It reminds me to be thankful for all that I have including the love of the people closest to me, my good health and intellect, and even the very ability to change my circumstances if I choose to. Life can change all or any of that in a second and we often don’t take the time to appreciate the simple pleasures of life until they are taken away or threatened. Instead we often focus on the negative and lose sight of the every day gifts we possess.
In an instant we change our thinking or make a positive decision that will change our lives and possibly the lives of those around us. How often has someone just said the right words or have you met the right person at the right time? Changing your life really can be as easy as changing your mind. The decision to stop an unproductive behavior or create a life affirming change can be as simple as the realization and then going forward and acting on it. Many times in my own life everything just became very clear in an instant and I can look back to the very moment where I just had to make a change, knew what I wanted my life to look like, and could see what I needed to do. What an awesome feeling that is!
So go out and tell someone thank you or that you love them or just notice something positive. You never know when that small thing you say can change another person’s life.
Have a wonderful day!
This is exactly what I needed to read right now. Today has been a day of challenges. Thanks for the post and for visiting and “liking” my post.
Just goes to prove you’re on the right path. You got what you needed just when you needed it! : )
You bet! Thanks for following!
Your kind words and encouragement may very well be key to my success. When I made my first blog entry, my thought was, “No one will ever read this,” but I was okay with that. I just needed a place to jot down my thoughts. It’s a documented fact that goals written down have a higher tendency to come to fruition. The fact that you chose my entry out of the sea of blog entries out there in the great vast is touching. Thank you for your kindness.
I’m positive you’re going to be successful. There are no coincidences. : )
